1983
Cindy Patrick Clark served as the president of the Wilson Hall PTO for
the 2009-2010 school year. Cindy has three daughters who attend Wilson
Hall: Caroline ’16, Catherine ’17 and Courtney ’18.
1996
Andy Hoefer is the Director of the University Scholars Program in the
Honors College at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He
received a B.A. in government and English from Wofford College, an M.A.
in American Studies from the University of Alabama, and a Ph.D. in
American Literature-Southern Studies from Louisiana State University.
He and his wife, Kate, have a daughter, Cora, who was born April 21,
2010.
Wade Kolb earned a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law. He is
doing a clerkship with Judge Ed Carnes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for
the 11th Circuit. The 11th Circuit handles
federal appeals from Alabama, Florida and Georgia, and the judge’s
chambers are located in Montgomery. Wade earned a B.A. in history and
religious studies from the University of South Carolina Honors College,
and he also studied English and theology at Oxford University.
1997
Betsy Johnson is pursuing a Ph.D. in neurobiology with a certificate in
cognitive neuroscience at Duke University. She works for the Duke
University Department of Neurobiology, Center for Cognitive
Neuroscience, doing research on human memory. Betsy graduated magna cum
laude from the University of South Carolina Honors College with a B.S.
in chemistry and a minor in mathematics, and she received her M.D. from
the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
1998
Jeff Jones, who graduated from The Citadel with a B.S. in business
administration, works for Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers as the territory
manager for the South Carolina Midlands. He and his wife, Amy, live in
Sumter with their two-year-old son, Henry.
1999
Lauren Elizabeth Edwards and William James Brennan were married on March
27 on the Bluff at Wachesaw Plantation Club in Murrells Inlet. The
rehearsal party was held at a private home and the reception was at
Kimbals Wachesaw Plantation Club, both in Murrells Inlet. Liza Senter
Cleveland ’99 served as the matron of honor, and the bridesmaids
included Brystol Henderson ’02, Martha Jo Smith Johnson ’99, Harvin
Eadon McCann ’01, Bobbie Sharp Owens ’99 and Page Blanding Palmer ’99.
The groomsmen included Allen Edwards ’02, Cade Henderson ’93, Matt
Reames ’01 and Jason Stone ’99, and Jenny-Lee Dennis Maxwell ’99 also
participated in the wedding. Lauren graduated from Columbia College with
a B.A. in speech language pathology and from the University of South
Carolina with a master’s degree in communication disorders. She is
employed as a preschool speech language pathologist by Lexington School
District 1. Will, who graduated from North Carolina State University
with a B.A. in economics, is employed by The Brennan Group as a project
developer. Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, Lauren and Will made
their home in Columbia.
2000
Minashia Lewis, who earned a B.S. in business from Rutgers University,
lives in Atlanta where she is a sales representative for a major
healthcare company.
Jennifer Alford Reimer and her husband, Seth,
announce the birth of their son, Johnathon Tucker Reimer, on May 26,
2010, in Sumter.
2001
Emily Baker Bland and Joseph DuPre Keys were married on May 15, 2010, at
Mayesville Presbyterian Church. Callie McFaddin ’01 served as the maid
of honor, the bridesmaids included Ann McDowell Calloway ’01 and Meghan
Thalman ’01, Jay Bland ’98 was one of the groomsman, and Charles Rhodes
’05 was an usher. The rehearsal dinner and dance was held at Sunset
Country Club and the garden reception was held at the home of Emily’s
parents in Mayesville. Emily graduated from Clemson University with a
bachelor of landscape architecture and from North Carolina State
University with a master of horticultural science, and she was most
recently employed as a landscape architect for Pleasant Landscapes in
Mount Pleasant. DuPre, who attended Wofford College and graduated from
Anderson University with a B.S. in business administration, is employed
as a producer for the Keys Agency of Palmetto Insurance in Belton.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, Emily and DuPre made their home
in Belton.
Anna Chesson Edens and Michael Garrett Hurst were
married on May 15, 2010, at the Sumter County Museum with a reception
following. Elizabeth Edens ’04 served as the maid of honor and Spears
Edens ’09 was an usher. Anna, who graduated from North Carolina State
University with a B.S. in biological sciences and from the University of
South Carolina with an master’s degree in genetic counseling, completed
her third year as a medical student at the Medical University of South
Carolina. Garrett received a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University
and completed his third year of medical school at MUSC. Following a
wedding trip to Savannah, Anna and Garrett made their home in
Charleston.
Margaret Harritt, who earned a B.S. in civil
engineering from the University of South Carolina, is a project manager
for Wolverton & Assoc. in Atlanta.
Paul Hoefer, who received a B.S. in finance and
real estate from the University of South Carolina and a J.D. from the
USC School of Law, lives in Columbia where he is an attorney with the
firm of Robinson McFadden. Paul practices law in the areas of civil
litigation and appeals and construction and procurement.
William Richard McLeod III and Jill Murray Braddy
were married June 5, 2010, at Main Street United Methodist Church in
Dillon. The rehearsal party was held at Bealuh Land Plantation in Latta
and the reception was held at Twin Lakes Country Club in Dillon. The
groomsmen included Bryan Caughman ’01, Brian Hill ’01, Matthew Shaw ’02
and Richard White ’02. Will, who graduated from Clemson University with
a B.S. in economics, is employed by Piggly Wiggly in Sumter. Jill
graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in biology and the
University of South Carolina School of Medicine with an M.D. She is a
first-year resident physician in obstetrics and gynecology at Palmetto
Health Richland in Columbia. Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia,
Will and Jill made their home in Columbia.
2002
Brystol Henderson, who graduated from the University of South Carolina
with a B.S. in biology, received an M.D. from the USC School of Medicine
and is completing her residency at the Medical University of South
Carolina.
Dana Logston, who earned a bachelor’s degree from
the University of South Carolina, lives in Charleston where she is
employed by Indus Technology, Inc., as a government contractor. She
works at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command supporting the
critical protection branch.
Marc van Bulck, who earned a B.A. in media arts
from Emerson College in Boston, graduated from Columbia Theological
Seminary in Atlanta with a master of divinity.
2003
Clay Carruth, who graduated from The Citadel with a B.A. in English,
earned a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
Paul Fata graduated from the U.S. Army Ranger
School, the Army’s premiere leadership course, and is an infantry
officer assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division. Paul earned
a B.S. in oceanography from the United States Naval Academy.
2004
Jordan Kinder Chestnut, who works for BB&T in personal client services,
lives in Montgomery, Alabama, with her husband, Michael. Jordan earned
a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University.
Mollie Sharp, who lives in Columbia, is an account
executive for BDI Pharma, a pharmaceutical company, and travels
throughout the United States to meet with clients. She earned a B.S. in
business administration from the University of South Carolina.
2005
Daniel Gordon, who earned a B.A. in public relations from the University
of South Carolina, is pursuing a master of arts in teaching in secondary
social studies from USC. He lives in Columbia and is working as an
assistant coach for Sumter’s American Legion baseball team, the P15s.
Megan Joyner, who earned a bachelor’s degree from
the College of Charleston, lives in Charleston where she is employed by
the Medical University of South Carolina as a patient care technician.
She has been accepted Drexel University in Philadelphia where she will
pursue a B.S. in nursing.
Thompson Kinney, who earned a B.A. in government
from Wofford College, will enter the Charleston School of Law in the
fall.
Katie Mayes, who received a B.A. in early childhood
education from Converse College, lives in Columbia where she works at
Eastminster Day School. During the summer she teaches at Sandhills
School.
Andrew Charles McCord and Elizabeth Brown Lee were
married June 5, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg. The
rehearsal party was held at the Carolina Country Club and the reception
was held at The Piedmont Club. Andrew’s father, Mr. Chuck McCord, a
science teacher at Wilson Hall, served as the best man. Andrew, who
graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in chemical engineering,
is employed by Milliken and Co. in Spartanburg. Beth graduated from
Clemson with a B.A. in elementary education. Following their wedding
trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Andrew and Beth made their home
in Spartanburg.
Derek Moore, who graduated from The Citadel with a
B.S. in business administration, is employed by Thompson Industrial
Services.
Charles Rhodes graduated from Clemson University
with a B.S. in accounting.
Emmie Roddey lives in Granby, Colorado, where she
works for the C-Lazy-U Ranch. She graduated from Clemson
University with a B.S. in animal and veterinary science with a
concentration in equine business.
Nancy Sharp lives in Columbia where she works as a
personal assistant for Cricket Newman Designs, a full service event
designer that plans weddings, social gatherings and corporate events.
Nancy graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in
public relations.
2006
McSwain Armfield earned a B.S. in civil engineering from The Citadel.
Claire Barnes graduated from Clemson University
with a B.S. in financial management.
David Barr, who was named to the spring semester
dean’s list, graduated with a B.A. in English from Covenant College
where he worked as a resident assistant. David is working as an
admissions representative for the college which is located on Lookout
Mountain, Georgia.
Jay Dailey earned a B.A. in business economics from
Wofford College.
Brianna Fletcher graduated from the College of
Charleston with a B.S. in elementary education.
Evans James graduated magna cum laude with a B.S.
in biology from The Citadel where he served as the academic officer for
his company. He was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi honor society and he
received Gold Star status for earning a 4.0 for the spring semester.
Evans is completing an internship at Tuomey Hospital this summer.
Brendan Kight received a B.S. in civil engineering
from The Citadel. He was a member of the college’s cross country team
and the indoor track and outdoor track teams for which he competed in
the 1500 meter, 3000 meter and steeplechase. At the cross country and
track and field programs annual banquet, Brendan was named the Most
Valuable Runner for the cross country program.
Madeline Martin graduated with a B.A. in history
with a minor in religion from Clemson University where she was a member
of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She is working as a leadership
consultant for her sorority’s national organization and will travel
throughout the United States and Canada visiting college campuses where
Kappa has a chapter.
Neal Moersen graduated cum laude with a B.A. in
history from Clemson University.
Miller Moss, a member of Clemson University's
indoor and outdoor track teams, finished 20th in the decathlon at the
NCAA Outdoor Championships at the University of Oregon.
Hughes Schwartz earned a B.S. in management from
Clemson University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity.
John Hunter Sheridan, a computer science and visual communications major
who expects to graduate from the University of South Carolina in
December, lives in Columbia where he has his own business, John Sheridan
Design & Development. This summer he is also working for a
Louisville-based website development company and is working on the
redesign of the website for Wake Forest University.
Carin Shuler graduated from the College of
Charleston with a B.A. in sociology and a minor in French.
Lauren Shuler graduated from the College of
Charleston with a B.S. in special education. She is working for the
South Carolina Early Autism Project in North Myrtle Beach doing applied
behavioral analysis therapy for children.
2007
Henry Bynum, a biological sciences major at Clemson University, was one
of 20 Clemson students selected to spend two weeks in May on a medical
mission trip to Costa Rica. This summer he will complete an internship
at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia which will allow him to
shadow physicians.
Emily Campolong, a biological sciences major at
Clemson University, was one of 20 Clemson students selected to spend two
weeks in May on a medical mission trip to Costa Rica. She is a member
of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Kevin McGinnis was named to the spring dean’s list
at the University of South Carolina Lancaster.
McKenzie Glenn worked for the Tuomey Foundation in
Sumter during May and will work for the Clemson University Foundation
for the remainder of the summer. She is a communications studies major
at Clemson University where she is a member of Delta Delta Delta
sorority.
Matt Talley, a pitcher for The Citadel, was
selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 25th round of the Major
League Baseball first-year draft. He was named
the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week twice for the Bulldogs,
which won the Southern Conference Championship and Tournament
Championship. Matt, a
civil engineering major, is playing for the Wilmington Sharks of the
Coastal Plains League, which is a collegiate summer league.
2008
Alison Corbett, a biology major at the University of South Carolina, was
named to the spring president’s list for earning a 4.0 GPA. She is
working for the S.C. Early Autism Project in Sumter this summer.
Louis Hill is working for the U.S. Department of
Agriculture’s Coastal Plains Soil, Water, and Plant Research Center in
Florence for the summer. He is a biosystems engineering major at
Clemson University.
Brent Klapthor, a chemical engineering major at
Clemson University, is interning for Carolina Filters, Inc., in Sumter
for the summer.
Katie Littleton, an English major at the University
of South Carolina Honors College, traveled to England in May through a
program sponsored by the Honors College.
2009
Lauren Bordeaux, a management major at the University of South Carolina,
is operating Casserole Creations with Stephanie James ’09 in Sumter this
summer. Lauren is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Cotton Carruth is a health, exercise and sport
science major at The Citadel where he is a member of the indoor and
outdoor track and field team and competes in the throwing events. This
summer he is working at Camp Mac Boykin, the Sumter Family YMCA’s
outdoor day camp. He volunteered as a counselor again for the Palmetto
Boys State Convention held at the University of South Carolina.
William Clinkscales is a neuroscience major with a
music minor at Vanderbilt University where he is a member of Sigma Alpha
Epsilon fraternity and the Reformed University Fellowship. He is
working at Camp Mac Boykin this summer.
Rickie Crum, a mechanical engineering major at the
University of South Carolina, received a varsity letter for being a
member of the university’s indoor track and outdoor track teams. Rickie
earned points for the Gamecocks in a variety of meets by competing in
the long jump, high jump and 400 meter hurdles.
Whitney Blue Fraser, who earned a 4.0 GPA for the
spring semester at Tri-County Technical College, will enter Clemson
University in the fall as a horticulture major.
Jessica Gardner, who attends Wofford College, volunteered again as a
counselor at Camp Kemo this summer. Sponsored by Palmetto Health
Children's Hospital, the camp in Batesburg-Leesville is for children who
have or have had cancer.
Wills Hines, who attends the University of Chicago,
is working for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington,
D.C., for the summer.
Stephanie James, a food science major at Clemson
University, is operating Casserole Creations with Lauren Bordeaux ’09
this summer in Sumter. Stephanie is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma
sorority.

University, is working for the South Carolina Early Autism Project in
Sumter for the summer. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Jason Li, who attends Duke University, is spending
the summer in China.
Hugh McMillan, who attends Wofford College, is
working at Camp Mac Boykin for the summer.
Trey Parker, who is a member of the cross country,
indoor track and outdoor track teams at Wofford College, was named the
Freshman of the Year by the Wofford Athletic Department. In cross
country Trey was named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and
he was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team. He set a
school record at the conference championship with a time of 26:04.19,
and he set a school record for an 8K with a time of 32:17.14 at the NCAA
Southeast Regional meet. Trey set three Wofford records during the
indoor track season: 1 mile (4:37.50), 3000 meter (9:06.85) and 5000
meter (15:24.94). He also set three Wofford records in the outdoor
track season: 1500 meter (4:08.09), 3000 meter (9:03.31) and 5000 meter
(15:22.66).
Reid Schwartz is a finance major at Clemson
University where he is a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He is
interning at Merrill Lynch in Sumter for the summer.
Lauren Thompson is spending the month of July in
Washington, D.C., working for U.S. Representative Gresham Barrett who
represents South Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District.
Lauren is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at Clemson University.
Thomas White, who is a member of Kappa Alpha
fraternity at the University of South Carolina, is working at Camp Mac
