The Class of 2009, the 39th graduating class, joined 1,888 people who proudly count themselves among the ranks of our school's alumni. Many of our alumni choose to return to Sumter after they finish college to start their careers and raise their families. As a matter of fact, 114 of our graduates are "legacies," or children of alumni, and over 230 of our current students are children of alumni. Alumni serve on the PTO Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees and the Athletic Association Board of Directors, and 15 of our faculty members are alumni.

Alumni are encouraged to submit information at any time to be printed in the Alumni News section of the school's magazine, The Accolade. Information may be submitted via mail or it may be emailed to the Director of Alumni Relations at sean_hoskins@hotmail.com.

REUNIONS
Classes who are organizing a reunion are encouraged to contact the Director of Alumni Relations for a listing of alumni and current addresses. The campus is available for family-oriented reunion events, such as picnics and pig roasts, during the day.  The Class of 2000 is planning a reunion for the weekend of August 27 and the Class of 1975 is planning a reunion for the weekend of October 22, and the Classes of '95, '96 & '97 are planning a combined reunion for October 23.

HOMECOMING
Homecoming was September 25 when the 2008 Homecoming Queen, Mollie Kinney,  crowned the 2009 Queen, Taylor Munn, during halftime of the varsity football game.  The 2010 Homecoming will be October 8.

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI RECOGNITION PROGRAM
Each fall, the school presents the Distinguished Alumni Awards during half time of a varsity football game. Recipients are chosen based on their educational and professional achievements, contributions to the community, and support of Wilson Hall. The 2009 Distinguished Alumni Awards will be presented October 30 to Buck James '78 and Aphrodite Karvelas Konduros '77.
