The students and faculty at Wilson Hall perform a variety of services to the
school and community throughout the year. The following is a partial listing of
the projects in which Wilson Hall participated in the 2008-09 school year.
The 63 members of the Class of 2009 completed approximately 2,000 hours of service to the community and school during their senior year.
Kiwanis Club Annual Pancake Breakfast: Key Club members sell tickets to and volunteer to work at this event that raises money for local children's charities. Members sold over $500.00 in tickets and volunteered 50 hours of labor.
YWCA Safe House: The Beta Clubs collected over 100 gifts for the women and children's shelter at Christmas.
Senior citizen visits: Preschool, kindergarten and first grade students visited and performed music programs at local senior citizen homes during the holidays.
Cookie & Card Drive: The Hand-in-Hand service club collected several
hundred dozen cookies to send to servicemen and women who were not able to go home for the holidays. They also made Christmas cards to send to the people serving overseas.
Peer Tutors: Upper School students volunteered to tutor Wilson Hall students in grades 1-12 on a weekly basis.

Baron Mentors: 55 seniors volunteered to serve as a mentor to first grade
students by visiting the classrooms at least once a week throughout the year.

Baron Readers: 30 upper school students volunteered to read to a kindergarten class on a weekly basis
throughout the year.

Pennies for Patients: Over $2,300 was raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Through a t-shirt sale, students raised over $2,500 to benefit a student
diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Students organized a bake sale that raised over $2,200 to benefit a local
leukemia patient.

Pen Pal Project: The Senior Class develops a year-long relationship with the students of Sandhills School, a school for students in grades 1-9 who have learning differences, by corresponding regularly. In the fall, the seniors invited their pen pals to campus and to a day of fun and games at Swan Lake. The seniors visited their pen pals in January for a Hawaiin Luau, and again in April for a Field Day sponsored by the seniors.
