Wilson Hall students have the opportunity to take a variety of field trips throughout the school year. Starting in the preschool, lower school students take several day trips. In the fall, students visit a farm to pick pumpkins, then again in the spring to pick strawberries. They take several trips to Patriot Hall to see plays performed by the Patchwork Players as well as performances by the Columbia City Ballet. Younger students travel to Columbia to visit Riverbanks Zoo, the SC State House and the State Museum. Upper class students also take various field trips.  The fourth grade visits several areas of interest in Sumter as part of the "My Community & Me" program. The AP Biology class travels to Forty-Acre Rock, Peach Tree Rock and Guignard Estates for field instruction. The Introduction to Physical Science class visits the local skating rink and bowling alley, and the AP Physics class visits the SC State Fair and Tuomey Regional Medical Center, both to conduct experiments.  Some classes take overnight field trips, such as the following:

Washington, D.C.
Each October, the 5th grade spends seven days in the Washington, D.C., area. The students and chaperons visit all of the important landmarks in the Capitol, and they also take side trips to Baltimore, Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.

Camp Kanuga
In October the 6th grade spends four days at Camp Kanuga located in the mountains of North Carolina near Hendersonville. White water rafting, orienteering, rappelling and camping out under the stars are the highlights of the trip.

Barrier Island
The 7th grade travels to Seabrook Island near Charleston in April for a three-day stay at Camp St. Christopher (also known as Barrier Island), an educational camp. Students learn about the ecosystem while having fun seining and crabbing, and they also learn the value of cooperation through a variety of teambuilding exercises.

Kanuga Conference Center
Each March, the Junior Class travels to the mountains of Hedersonville, North Carolina, for a three-day retreat at the Kanuga Conference Center. With the theme of "Leadership, Legacy, Loyalty," the retreat focuses on team building activities, developing camaraderie, and setting goals for the rising senior class. Whitewater rafting, ropes courses, team building games and student led conferences are the centerpieces of the retreat.

New York City
During winter break in February, art students take a four-day art appreciation trip to NYC to visit the major art museums and art galleries as well as take in a Broadway show.

Paris
In alternating years, students in the French classes visit Paris during the week of Spring Break. They have the opportunity to visit several attractions, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Palace of Versailles, and museums such as the Musee d'Orsay and the Louvre. A boat ride on the Seine River, a walking tour of the city and a special guided tour of Paris at night are also on the itinerary.

Italy
In alternating years, students in the Latin classes visit Rome, Italy, and surrounding towns during the summer. The group has the opportunity to visit attractions such as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Vatican City, the catacombs, and the famous piazzas and fountains.

Spain
Each summer, students in the Spanish classes have the opportunity to attend  two classes at the University of Madrid for four weeks.  In addition to visiting the sights of Madrid, students also travel to surrounding towns and cities such as Toledo and Barcelona.  The students enjoy a visit in Paris on the return trip home.
