|
Host families are being sought for the
2010-2011 school year for three students (10th grade boy and girl
and 11th grade boy) from South Korea.. The students, who are
already attending school in the U.S., have been screened and are
highly motivated to do well in school. Host families are
responsible for transporting the students to and from school.
Breakfast and dinner must be provided Monday-Friday and students
will eat school lunches. Full meals should be provided on
weekends, holidays and school breaks. A generous monthly
stipend will be paid to the host families to cover expenses.

Wilson Hall received the first Excellence in
the Arts award presented by the S.C. Independent School
Association. There are 107 schools in SCISA, and Wilson Hall
won the award for the AAA division. The award recognizes the
best fine and performing arts program as based on state-wide
competitions. |

Senior Chris Sharp received the Bill Simpson
Award recognizing him as the top male scholar-athlete in the 107
schools that are members of SCISA. He is the eighth Baron to
receive this award. |

Senior Megan Wang is the 2010 Valedictorian. |
|
Senior Katie Cunningham is the 2010
Salutatorian. |
|
Senior Wesley Talley received the John S.
Wilson Award, which is the highest honor given to a Wilson Hall
student. It is awarded to a senior who possesses the
ideal qualities of a Wilson Hall student based on academic
achievement, leadership abilities, character, and contributions to
the school, community and church. |

Mrs. Laura Clark & Mrs. Susie Guldan received
the Margaret S. West Excellence in Teaching Award presented to one
lower school and one upper school faculty member who exhibits
excellence in teaching through interest and enthusiasm of the
subject matter, and who shows genuine compassion for his or her
students. |
|
Seniors Kathleen Hines & Wil Stokes were named
the Star Students for earning the highest SAT score, and they
chose Mr. Ben McIver & Mr. Scott Warren as the Star Teachers. |

The Barbara Moses Unsworth Award was presented

The Washington & Lee University Book Award was
presented to Walker Blanding. The award recognizes the
junior who has demonstrated academic excellence and campus
involvement. |

The John W. Chappell Award was presented to
Cody Clark. The award recognizes the sophomore who has a
genuine love for U.S. History, earns an A in the class, and
demonstrates high moral character & citizenship qualities. |

The James E. DuBose Award was presented to
Maggie Goodson. The award recognizes the eighth grader who
displays a strong love for Christ, constantly strives to do his or
her best in academics and athletics, has a positive attitude,
encourages others, and always demonstrates compassion for all. |

The Lynn Reynolds award was presented to Chen
Lin. The award recognizes the fourth grader who meets life's
challenges with a positive attitude, possesses a never-ending zest
