Every year Thomas Sumter Academy (TSA) has a campaign to
raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This year they have chosen
Wilson Frerichs to be their honored patient. Wilson is in the 4 year old
preschool class at Wilson Hall. TSA hosts many events that take place at their
school that help raise money to support this cause. One of the things they do
is show a movie during school where the students can pay to see the movie during
class time. They raise a lot of money doing this, because who would not want to
get out of class. Anyway, this year they are going during school hours to the
movie, "Extraordinary Measures." They have also uploaded an awesome video to
the site,
www.extraordinarymeasuresthemovie.com, highlighting Wilson and his disease.
You can go to this website and then click on "Inspirational Quilt." Here you
will see quite a few squares on a quilt. These squares are videos people have
made to promote various causes. Wilson’s video has a picture of a fire truck on
the square and if you move the cursor over it you will see it say TSA 28th
Annual Leukemia Campaign by Kipper. Click on that and it will show the video.
It takes a while to download and until it fully downloads, it will continue to
pause throughout the video. At the top, you will see where it says "Vote." The
video that receives the most votes will be awarded $10,000 to go towards its
cause. There is only about two weeks left to vote and many of the other videos
have been on the site for a while, so PLEASE go to this site daily or as much as
possible and vote for Wilson's video. It would be so awesome if we could give
$10,000 to his cause! Please put this on your Facebook, email it to everyone
you know in an attempt to win this contest at the last minute. We would be
ecstatic if we could win this! Please think of this as a way that you can help
Wilson and many of the other people that are fighting this disease. Your many,
many votes will be GREATLY appreciated.
