Wilson Hall
The beliefs and mission statement provide the foundation for all policies, procedures, guidelines, and practical decisions that support the achievement of the desired results for student learning.
MISSION STATEMENT
Wilson Hall offers a superior academic program with a dedicated faculty directing a student-oriented education. Founded in 1966, it is a coeducational, college-preparatory day school where students are nurtured and encouraged to grow to their potential in a caring and creative atmosphere. To provide a balanced education, we instill Judeo-Christian values in our students' lives, and students participate in a service to the community each year of their enrollment. In order to complete the students' education, we offer opportunities for them to participate in athletics and extra-curricular activities.
BELIEF STATEMENTS
- We believe in the teaching of Judeo-Christian values while recognizing and respecting other beliefs.
- We believe the values of honor, integrity, and diligence are essential in the development of our students' character.
- We believe learning is a lifelong process.
- We believe all children and faculty should feel safe and welcomed into an environment conducive to learning and teaching.

- We believe in providing opportunities for students' academic, social, physical, and spiritual development.
- We believe our faculty and staff serve as role models for students and for each other.
- We believe students learn through various teaching styles and should be encouraged to work to their potential.

- We believe in the importance of student participation in the community to strengthen the bond among the students, school, and community.
As Wilson Hall began its first steps towards the initial school improvement process, it included the formal writing of its mission statement and beliefs. The NSSE's School Improvement: Focusing On Student Performance provided the guidelines by which in-service meetings were conducted. The entire faculty underwent a collaborative process of examining the school's existing mission statement. After much deliberation and a thorough consensus process, we developed a first draft. Faculty, administrators, parents, and the board of trustees then undertook numerous reviews, thus finalizing the results representing a collective approval of the current mission statement and beliefs of Wilson Hall. Each year, Wilson Hall's faculty and administration reviews the beliefs and mission statement to ensure the school is operating in the appropriate direction. In the 2004 annual review, the faculty voted to make a few minor changes to the mission statement and two of the belief statements. The administration, student council, PTO, and board of trustees then reviewed and unanimously approved these changes.
