Wilson Hall is hosting the third annual Mini-Dance Marathon in partnership with the University of South Carolina Dance Marathon which raises over half a million dollars every year for the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital through the Miracle Network. The money we raise will be added to the total amount raised by USCDM and will go to support bettering the lives of children at the hospital. Our event will be held in the Nash Student Center on Saturday, January 12 from 5:00-7:30 for lower & middle school students and from 7:00-10:00 for high school students. It is not required to be at the event for the full time, but it is encouraged; we are dancing for those who cannot! We will have food, music, and games for all ages; attire is casual. Admission at the door is $15.00. Help us reach our goal of $12,000 by visiting the Miracle Network Dance Marathon page (search for the Wilson Hall event) which makes donating and registering for our event easy.

Sixth Grade Mountain Trip

Through activities such as white water rafting on the French Broad River, the 70 students in the sixth grade experienced an educational and enjoyable trip to Camp Kanuga in Hendersonville, N.C., from October 29-31. Organized by Mrs. Stacey Reaves, middle school principal, the 19th annual trip gave the students the opportunity to participate in four classes taught by the Mountain Trail Outdoor School which is located in the Appalachian Mountains. These classes included a co-operation and low ropes course, a hands-on course in rappelling, an orienteering and wilderness survival course, and a course in forest ecology. Students also enjoyed activities to promote bonding and team building with their classmates, such as campfires and recreational games, as well as time for a daily devotion.
