Teresa O’Hare Alexander ’98 and Robert Wilson ‘99 received the 26th annual Distinguished Alumni Awards at a special presentation on Spencer Field during half time of the varsity football game. Mr. Fred Moulton, Headmaster, and Mr. William Croft ‘90, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, presented the awards on October 19.
Teresa works at Wilson Hall where she teaches 7th grade composition, 7th grade study skills, and high school leadership. She was named the State Middle School Teacher of the Year by the South Carolina Independent School Association, and she was voted as the Wilson Hall Middle School Teacher of the Year three times by her peers. Under her leadership as the head coach, the varsity softball team won the state championship three times and Teresa was named the State Softball Coach of the Year. She graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in education. Teresa and her husband, Troy, live in Sumter and are members of St. Anne & St. Jude Catholic Church. They have two children, Wil ‘30 and Variah. Teresa is the daughter of Tom and Lucy O’Hare.
Robert, an attorney, serves as Senior Counsel with the law firm of Marshall Denning in New York City. He is also the Chief Legal Officer for Vandis, a technology company also in New York City. Robert serves on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. He graduated from the Clemson University Honors College with a Bachelor of Arts in history, the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business with a Master of International Business Administration, and the University of South Carolina School of Law with a Juris Doctor. Robert and his wife, Annie, live in Columbia where he is the President of the Wales Garden Neighborhood Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the Five Points Coalition of Neighborhoods. He is the son of Bob and Emily Wilson.
