Senior Sydney Jarecki was crowned the 47th Homecoming Queen during half time of the varsity football game on October 5. The senior class nominated seven girls from the class to be on the Homecoming Court, and students in grades nine-12 voted for the queen. In addition to Sydney, the following seniors were elected to the court: Callie McAdams, Sarah McCreight, Kenzie Naylor, Chandler Patrick, Liza Segars and Lindy Watford.
A variety of activities took place to celebrate Homecoming. Spirit Week found students and faculty members dressing up to the following themes: class color day, extreme blue & white, group costume, rockers v. rappers, and Space Jam.
Students arrived to campus the morning of the 5th to find the entire high school building decorated by the varsity cheerleading squad to the theme of “Baron Fright Night.” The exterior entrance of the building was transformed into a two-story façade of a haunted house, and the inside of the building had intricately painted banners and decorations that covered the floor, walls and ceiling. Students of all ages enjoyed the festive atmosphere throughout the day.
The Student Council sponsored the 45th annual Homecoming Parade which traveled the four-mile route through the nearby neighborhood on the afternoon of the 5th. Each class in grades six through twelve sponsored a float decorated to the following themes: 24K Gold, Barnum & Baron, Baron Safari, The Incredibles, Rock ‘n Roll, Super Heroes, and Western. Every middle and high school student rode in the parade.
