Students Win State Art Competition


Hayley Champion, Catharine Busch, Grace McArthur, Carlie Fort & Coker Cutler

Winning 15 ribbons, including five blue ribbons for first place, Wilson Hall students were well-recognized in the S.C. Independent School Assoc. State Art Show. The show was held in The Darla Moore Foundation’s R.O.B. Center in Lake City. Over 500 pieces of artwork from students who attend SCISA schools across the state were displayed for the art show and reception.

The following students won first place ribbons in their respective divisions: Catharine Busch – open media, Hayley Champion – sculpture, Coker Cutler – photography, Carlie Fort – pottery, and Grace McArthur – painting. Winning second place ribbons were Maddie Crawshaw – sculpture and EmmaLee Peyton – pottery.

The following students received honorable mention ribbons for their work: Anna Kate Coker – drawing, Frances Mac Elmore – open media 2D, Autumn Gebler – sculpture, Emily Gray – pottery, Wade Payne – pottery, Kate Thigpen – pottery, Michael Thorne – open media 3D, and Isabelle Weston – open media. Mrs. Ashley Lareau, Mrs. Cynthia McGrady and Mrs. Tara Schumacher are the art teachers.
