Volleyball Team Receives National Recognition

Wilson Hall’s varsity volleyball team was selected as a 2016-2017 Academic All-American Team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the second consecutive year. The team was also selected as an Honor Roll team, recognizing it as having one of the top-25 grade point averages of all girls high school teams in the country.

The AVCA recognizes programs in high school and college that excel in the classroom as well as on the court. The Barons achieved a team GPA of 4.681 on a 4.0 scale. Among the 12 members of the team, they completed 17 Advanced Placement courses and 22 honors classes.

On the court the Barons won the Region Championship for the third straight season, finishing with a record of 22-12 and receiving a top-four seed in the S.C. Independent School Assoc. AAA state tournament.

The following students were members of the 2016 team: Catherine Clark, Courtney Clark, Chandler Curtis, Danielle deHoll, Cameron Duffy, Katie Duffy, Sydney Jarecki, Liza Lowder, Becka Noyes, Betsy Noyes, Madison Reaves and Madison Sliwonik. The Barons are coached by Mr. Rip Ripley who was assisted by Ms. Andrea Davis.
